Sunday Services 21 April

Join us at our 9am or 11am service as we spend time worshipping God with singing, open the bible together, and share a time of connection with others in our RCC whānau.

This week we have our Global Mission Service and Philip Mani Manjul is sharing. Philip is CEO of Christian Missions Charitable Trust (CMCT) - one of our mission partners in India, working amongst the poor in Chennai, North India. Peter and Karen Brookes will also be joining us, and Karen will have handcrafts produced by women in the Haven of Hope ministry for display and purchase (EFTPOS is available).

We'll be thrilled to welcome you!

Our 11am service will be livestreamed on:

Missions Night Sun 21 April

Join us at our next Missions Night on Sunday 21 April at 7:30pm. Our most recent mission’s partner, Paul Sommerville, founder and director of EmPower International will be sharing with us the amazing work that God is doing through the boy’s home in Honduras (that we currently support) and also give an update on our VIG project which is setting up a similar facility in El Salvador.

Exploring a new 6pm Sunday Service at RCC: an invitation to prayer

We are keen to explore starting a new service on Sundays at 6pm. If this interests you and would like to be involved we will be praying into this idea as preparation for a potential start sometime in the second term.

We invite you to join us for prayer at 6pm on Sunday, meeting in the church foyer.

Majesty Seminar with Brad Carr - Sat 11 May

We're excited that Brad Carr will be joining us on Sat 11 May and presenting a seminar titled "Majesty". This is an opportunity to take a deep dive into God’s attributes and develop a greater sense of awe at His majesty and greatness - this ties in well with our theme for the year: Seek His Presence. RCC has heavily subsidized the seminar and cost is $35 adults and $15 students (includes morning tea and light lunch). Sign up by Thursday 8 May. Come and join us!

The Mark Drama

Over the weekend of 25-26th May we are looking at putting on the Mark Drama, a 90 minute production of the gospel of Mark designed as a tool for outreach to invite friends along to. We are looking to build a cast, if you’d be interested in finding out more please get in touch with Matt. No acting experience is necessary just a love for the story which is powerful in its own right! Practices will all be contained within that week of May over a couple of evenings and the Saturday making this an achievable drama to participate in. We’d also love to invite you to pray into who you might be able to invite!

Counselling Intern - Karina is on board, so book now

Karina Brocherie our Mind Health intern counsellor has started! Karina is in her 3rd year of training at Bethlehem Tertiary Institute.

She comes with a great range of life experiences plus she is mum to 6 children and grandmum to one. She has a passion for the outdoors, whether it be teaching bush skills, exploring mountains, or camping in the deepest parts of the South Island

Karina will be providing RCC with 100 hours of counselling through to November 2024. Karina’s counselling hours are available to people of all ages who attend RCC, or who are connected to people at RCC, or people in the communities around RCC in Riccarton.

The main areas Karina can work with are: Stress, anxiety, grief, fear, trauma, sadness, conflict resolution, school/social/work/family issues, personal problem solving or goal setting, phobias, confidence, challenging emotions and behaviours.

There are no set fees for these counselling sessions. However, as RCC has paid for this opportunity we do ask that users of this service do consider making a Koha payment of between $15 and $35 per session directly to RCC. Please note, for people not able to afford to make Koha payments in the recommended range, Karina’s normal counselling services are still available to them.
