RCC Vision Statement

  • Evangelise the City.

We have a passion to share the great truth of Jesus Christ with our city. We believe God has called us to have a city-wide focus.

  • Satisfying the needs of the poor and disadvantaged.

We believe we are called to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the poor and disadvantaged.

  • Build People to Maturity in Christ.

Becoming a Christian is only the beginning. "We want to help each other grow in our relationship with God."

  • Impact the Nations.

God loves everyone - from every race, nation and people-group on earth. We aim to spread God's good news by sending people to, and supporting people in, different countries around the world.

Flying Solo

Our vision is to develop a group of single parents and support people to get beside, encourage and support those who have the responsibility of parenting and running a home without a support network to help them.  We want to support single parent mothers and fathers as well as parents whose partner/spouse is not taking any responsibility for the family.

Each week we have a light lunch and coffee afternoon in the Riccarton Community Church foyer from 12:30pm - 2pm on Fridays, where we can meet, share with an encourage each other. Once a month we plan to invite a speaker to informally talk to the group.

These will include;

: Tenancy protection

: WINZ

: Kingdom Resources/ Budgeting

: S.W.A.P.  Single Women As Parents

: RCC ministries like Playgroup, My Time@10, etc

This enables parents to develop a list of “Support Agencies”, maximise their support and opportunities to build up their own family and contribute to their community.

We will continue to run through the school holidays, organising events involving the children as well, whether going on outings to the beach, Orana Park, Willow Bank, Botanic Gardens, etc. or organising the occasional parent/child sessions, e.g. Mother/daughter make-up or jewellery session, Mother/son lego building session, Parent/children cupcake session to name just a few.

We ask for a gold coin donation to help towards costs but please don’t let this be a barrier.
